www.anthonybrawley.co.uk Ineos Oil Refinery, Grangemouth, Scotland Bigger Long time no' see ! I've had a short break and a welcome one at that, I've spent some good time with my family and really enjoyed it. I had a wee shock over the weekend right enough. I finally decided after two years to get a second opinion on my eye test. I dont wear glasses just now but I've had a few niggles and having some spare time I got them checked again. I'm a left eye photographer and this is most certainly my dominant eye, you can imagine my surprise then when it was confirmed that this eye is approximately 5 times weaker than my right eye, I have astygmatism and am long sighted. I'm getting my new specs next week and have to wear them all the time. It's going to take some getting used to. Just as an aside, whilst I was waiting for the eye test, wife, baby and I headed round the corner to grab a sandwich at Berits & Brown, a wee deli/coffee bar in the Merchant City, Glasgow. I had the New York Reuben (salt beef, gherkin, sauerkraut, blow-your-head-off-strength-cheddar and mustard mayo), my wife had a club sandwich. My piece was actually one of the very best sandwiches I have ever tasted but feck me it was £8.59, so was the club sandwich ! WTF - 8 and a half quid for a sandwich in Glasgow ? When I told my Dad, he said, "I'd have wanted it framed at that price !" PMSL So between lunch and the gregorys and in just over an hour I was £684 quid lighter. I can kiss goodbye to the PC lens for a while then... Anyway, the specs are either going to make me or break me, I hope its the former. I've just realised I havent said anything about the shot. Maybe I shot get me a blog ? Theres not much to say about it, been here, done it before, this time its a pano right enough, 1 x row of 6 shots, cropped back to the dimensions of 4 shots. I also cooled the WB a lot more this time round to make it slightly more authentic to the scene. After we had finished shooting, we decided to have a drive around the place to see if there was any other shots from ground level. I ended up a one way street, where there was a parked car. Turned the motor and pulled up alongside the car to ask for directions to a road I had seen from up on the hill. I'm going off on one here but when the baby was born my wife bought wee blinds to protect the baby from the sun for my car. Forgetting they were attached I pressed the button one day to wind the window and somehow got a part stuck in the inner window cavity, the window has never been right since and I've never bothered getting it fixed. Back at the parked car, which was at the passenger side of me, I went to roll my window down, to politely ask for directions, when I was greeted by a jumped up bawbag of a security guard. Alan done the speaking which was probably just as well as I'm not noted for keeping my mouth shut. Trying to get your window down and it not working, forcing your passenger to open the door, doesnt half put you off your stride, mind you. Anyway Alan asked politely for directions and this clown started enquiring as to what we were doing, Alan being far more patient than me, explained we were looking to take some pictures. "Oh you can't do that, I strongly advise you not to do that, I'll have to inform the police, terrorism this and terrorism that" Good for you ya twat. Off I went, slightly miffed and the clown actually waited a bit then followed me in his car. Slowing down and speeding up probably wasn't the best idea but I hope it annoyed the officious arsehole. I apologise for the profanity but equally what the hell is this country coming to, when security guards think they can follow people in their car on public feckin roads ? I should have called the police on him, or better still, belted the bell-end. Rant over. Back to being cheery. I'm off to Cairngorm snowboarding in a few hours and can't wait. Thanks for looking/reading.

I just got new contacts, went to a new place because I now have optical insurance...hated the place and the doctor (and probably wont go back there) but love that they caught astygmatisms in my eyes, my contacts are now not as strong and I can see so much sharper. ;)
